Water Supply Planning
SMW understands both the regulatory requirements to pursue alternative water supply (AWS) sources and the realities faced by individual utilities. This is a new issue facing all Florida utilities and it is important that water suppliers are informed about water resource limitations.

Through requirements set forth by the water management districts, alternative water supply development and identification may be necessary. We attend regular meetings sponsored by the water management districts where alternative water source solutions and utility partnering options are discussed. SMW provides technical input to protect our clients' interests while maintaining an open dialogue with the regulatory agencies as utilities develop alternative water supply resources.
